Internet Safety & Your Child
Brandon Madden, Outreach Specialist at the NC Dept. of Justice says that millions of children under the age of 18 are using the Internet every day. The Internet presents a variety of risks for these children including solicitation by child predators, unwanted exposure to sexual material, and harassment online. Most children do not tell their parents about inappropriate online communications. This presentation will focus on those risks, and will provide some steps that parents and other caregivers can consider taking to protect their children from online dangers.
