President’s Message
Dear Parents, Teachers, Staff and Administration,
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year at Brier Creek Elementary School (BCES). This will be a year focused on continued commitment to academic excellence and positive "SOARING" behavior.
In collaboration with Dr. Chambers, our wonderful Principal, the PTA Board developed 2 priorities for this year: outfit every classroom with a SMART Board and leveled books. The SMART Boards support our teachers with a tool that provides expanded experiences and engages our children in new ways of learning. The leveled books allow each classroom to have books on hand at reading levels of all the kids in that grade, providing more opportunities to take books home to encourage the love of reading.
The priorities can only be met by supporting the efforts of and participating in the PTA. One of the first things that you can do to participate is to join the PTA and attend the 4 General PTA meetings this year. Secondly, we encourage you to sign up for a committee or volunteer during the year. All the funds raised by the PTA events go back to the teachers and students. Participating in the PTA is rewarding not only to parents but also your children and the whole BCES community!
