When you have had the privilege of attending the same school as your classmates all through your Elementary School career you want nothing more than to end the experience with a BANG! Our fifth grade class at Brier Creek Elementary is eager to do just that.

As a tradition each year the Brier Creek 5th Grade students work hard fundraising money in hopes of anxiously jumping on a bus and taking the trek to our nation’s capital to share a moment in front of the Washington Monument, the vision of Abraham Lincoln, and the chance of catching a glimpse of the President of the United States.This winter our 5th grade students hope to continue this tradition.

However, as we fall into difficult economic times this tradition is becoming more challenging to keep alive. Many of our families are unable to cover the $300 cost for their child to attend this three-day, once-in-a-lifetime event. The Brier Creek PTA would like to raise $9,000 to help lower the per person cost for each of the students as well as provide scholarships to those in need.
